Welcome, and thank you for visiting our website.
Glenfall is an unusual garden of about a third of an acre, located in the seclusion of the
former Aitkins Quarry some 15 miles west of Glasgow, Scotland. Featuring a 30-foot
waterfull into a meandering burn, exposed rock faces, hidden steps and paths, our
garden has the potential to become a specialist plantsman’s paradise! Please feel free
to 'Enter the Garden' and have a wander around.
Naturally the garden changes over the seasons and over the years, so plants have come and, in a few cases
(sadly) gone, but we’ve left some favourite photos. There are a few pictures also of our bungalow.
We’ve been here almost six years, and we love it! But we’re both retired now and family members are
mostly in the south of England, so the time has come to move on. Yes, of course we are biased, but we
have found many advantages to living in this part of Howwood. It’s a pleasant little backwater just off the
Beith Road with easy access eastwards to Glasgow Airport, Braehead shopping centre and Glasgow city; or
westwards to Greenock, Largs and the Clyde Coast. There’s a bus stop directly across the road and the train
station is only a five minute walk.
